THEATRE
Interact Theater performs at The Lab Theater, 700 First St. North in the Minneapolis Warehouse District.
Coming April 28 through May 19
A Work of Heart
Interact Theater’s spring production, filled with music, dance and fantastic adventure, combines the work of Interact's visual and performing arts in this original, ensemble created story. It is a remarkable piece that brings to life some of the deeply colorful and complex portfolios of Interact visual artists Peder Hagen, Nick Flaming, Matt Zimdars, Anna Halvorson, Eve Newman and Donovan Durham. Written by Dawn Brodey, directed by Leah Adcock-Starr, with new music by Ivey award-winner, Aaron Gabriel. Featuring the Interact Company of artists with and without disabilities and guest artists Heather Bunch and Sarah Nargang.
The Lab Theater will become a canvas showcasing the rich and colorful themes of the artists’ visual artwork in a dramatic and fantastical way and every element of the production will originate from the heart and soul of the artists’ collective work and imagination. Audiences can also see work by the six featured Interact visual artists exhibited in the galley space created at The Lab for this production.

about interact theater
Interact Theater produces two original, fully staged theater productions each year, created and performed by the entire company; along with more informal works-in-process that attract a wide, eclectic audience; and a season of shorter works designed for special events such as school shows, industry events, and conferences. Our ensemble-generated creation and developmental process means that artists with disabilities fully participate in conceiving new work, developing the original material, writing scripts, and incorporating everyone's ideas through improvisation and other ensemble-building techniques. All artists are paid for their performance work. Collaborating with major guest artists such as Kevin Kling, Larry Yazzie, J. Otis Powell! and others, Interact Theater artists with disabilities have become an integral part of the Twin Cities and regional arts community.
Interact has produced over two dozen original, ensemble-created plays. Following are glimpses of our work.
