Formally trained artists offer instruction and advocacy for the Interact Visual Arts program. The studio accommodates up to 40 artists, who work independently in their chosen medium of painting, drawing, sculpture, clay or textile. Weekly seminars are offered in such areas as life drawing, mosaic, watercolor technique and art history, and studio artists make visits to museums, galleries or artist studios.
All artists have opportunities to exhibit work in shows curated by the gallery director at the Inside Out Gallery, located in Interact’s facility in the historic warehouse district of Minneapolis. Artists receive a commission for the sale of their work. Interact also seeks alternative venues for both group and individual exhibitions, and artists are alerted to outside calls for entries to show or sell work. Many Interact artists have had great success exhibiting work and procuring outside commissions.

Interact artists investigate the portrait as a way to celebrate self and otherness. This intriguing collection explores both direct
representation and how far an artist can stretch boundaries.
The artists in Interact’s visual arts program often show their work at venues in the community. These exhibitions both broaden Interact’s audience and give the artists more opportunities to challenge society’s view of disability. More.
